Saving just one animal won’t change the world,
but surely the world will change for that one animal…
but surely the world will change for that one animal…
Oh, What a Night!!!!!
We are overwhelmed by the generosity of our friends and fellow animal lovers who came out to support Fireplug Freeway in our mission to transport animals across the country, giving them another chance at a forever home. Our fundraiser, hosted by Mark and Suzanne Knudson, surpassed our wildest hopes to secure passage for these deserving animals for 2026.
So much fun, good food, good friends, cute dogs from the Llano hoarding case. Thank you to all!!!! We are truly blessed.

Keep 'em Out, Get 'em Out
Our Pledge for Animal Welfare
365 Pet Connection is a 501c3 animal rescue organization that has been in operation in Burnet and Llano Counties since September 2013. Many of you have probably not heard of us as we are a small organization and not a brick-and-mortar shelter. Our mission has been to save the lives of adoptable animals that are at risk of being surrendered to shelters, living in overcrowded open admission shelters or who are in otherwise life-threatening situations by specifically forming connections and working with other non-profit, no-kill animal welfare groups. We accomplish this through partnering with other rescues, through transport, fostering, re-homing and social media postings.
With Texas seeing record-breaking numbers of shelter surrenders and dumped pets, we are refocusing our efforts to try to keep animals out of shelters and in their own homes and to get animals already in shelters out. Our new pledge for animal welfare is “Keep ‘em, out, get ‘em out!”
We are working on both fronts and would like to share some exciting news. First, we have opened a pet food pantry to help owners who are struggling to feed their pets due to financial hardship. We currently take in food and monetary donations and distribute free pet food the second Wednesday of every month in conjunction with the Cottonwood Shores Cupboard. Additionally, we are proud to announce that we are partnering with the local Meals on Wheels organization that serves Williamson and Burnet Counties. We want to ensure that their clients can feed their pets, keep them in their homes and out of the shelters.
Secondly, to get ‘em out, we have been transporting animals cross-country to other rescue groups and have found that we can do a much more efficient and cost-effective job if we have our own 501c3 transport company. We are currently waiting to take possession of our new transport van and finalize details. Stay tuned for the full story and all the exciting updates as we roll out “Fireplug Freeway.”
As we face these challenging times, 365 Pet Connection strives to save as many animals as we can, even if it is only one at a time. Pregnant mothers and mothers with newborns continue to be the main focus of our foster program and certainly our labor of love, but we have to reinvent ourselves to help combat the current overpopulation crisis. Saving just one animal won’t change the world, but surely the world will change for that one animal.
