Emma's Express opens our 2026 Transport season.  13 lucky dogs went to PNW on February 2, 2026.

Rescue is about second chances and full hearts! Thank you, Emma, as your legacy of love has made a difference.
Our heartfelt thanks go out to Bill and Elaine Lancaster for sponsoring the “Emma Express” in memory of their beloved dog, Emma. Their contribution enabled 13 dogs and puppies to travel to our rescue partners in the Pacific Northwest, where they were immediately welcomed into the loving arms of their foster families. Two of the dogs, Roo and Tigger, came to us from the recent hoarding case in Llano, and Oreo was one of Hazel’s big puppies raised by JoAnn and Mike Robertson. You may have met these pups at Holidaze or at Ace Hardware events.
This past November, Fireplug Freeway held a Benefit where the Lancaster’s, along with many animal-loving people, funded rescue transports to safety.  Fireplug Freeway takes at-risk dogs and puppies out of area shelters, due to overcrowding, and transports them to safe, loving homes. Due to a generous donor, we were able to purchase and outfit our own rescue van and named our operation Fireplug Freeway. The first rescue transport was in July of 2024, and 134 dogs and puppies have been a part of the Fireplug Freeway to safety.
We look forward to bringing more transports to your attention as future trips were funded through the Benefit and are being organized. If you might be interested in sponsoring a transport or you would like to get in touch with us, you can reach us at  [email protected] or [email protected], and  you can follow us on Facebook.

Keep 'em Out, Get 'em Out
                         Our Pledge for Animal Welfare

365 Pet Connection is a 501c3 animal rescue organization that has been in operation in Burnet and Llano Counties since September 2013.  Many of you have probably not heard of us as we are a small organization and not a brick-and-mortar shelter.   Our mission has been to save the lives of adoptable animals that are at risk of being surrendered to shelters, living in overcrowded open admission shelters or who are in otherwise life-threatening situations by specifically forming connections and working with other non-profit, no-kill animal welfare groups.  We accomplish this through partnering with other rescues, through transport, fostering, re-homing and social media postings.
With Texas seeing record-breaking numbers of shelter surrenders and dumped pets, we are refocusing our efforts to try to keep animals out of shelters and in their own homes and to get animals already in shelters out.  Our new pledge for animal welfare is “Keep ‘em, out, get ‘em out!”
We are working on both fronts and would like to share some exciting news.  First, we have opened a pet food pantry to help owners who are struggling to feed their pets due to financial hardship.  We currently take in food and monetary donations and distribute free pet food the second Wednesday of every month in conjunction with the Cottonwood Shores Cupboard.  Additionally, we are proud to announce that we are partnering with the local Meals on Wheels organization that serves Williamson and Burnet Counties.  We want to ensure that their clients can feed their pets, keep them in their homes and out of the shelters.
Secondly, to get ‘em out, we have been transporting animals cross-country to other rescue groups and have found that we can do a much more efficient and cost-effective job if we have our own 501c3 transport company.   We are currently waiting to take possession of our new transport van and finalize details.  Stay tuned for the full story and all the exciting updates as we roll out “Fireplug Freeway.”
As we face these challenging times, 365 Pet Connection strives to save as many animals as we can, even if it is only one at a time.  Pregnant mothers and mothers with newborns continue to be the main focus of our foster program and certainly our labor of love, but we have to reinvent ourselves to help combat the current overpopulation crisis.  Saving just one animal won’t change the world, but surely the world will change for that one animal.
